As an Independence Member, you can rest easier knowing that you have a hospital confinement benefit for accidents included as a part of your membership package. In the event of a covered in-patient stay, you and your family's benefit dollars can be used wherever you need it the most.
Accident Only In-Hospital Benefits:
- Principal Member - $600/day
- Spouse/Domestic Partner* - $500/day
- Dependent Children* - $400/day
- Max. Days Per Year - 100 days
- Benefit Begins - 2nd Consecutive Day - Retroactive to 1st
- Waiting Period - N/A; must be confined two days
- Exclusion/Pre-Existing Conditions - N/A
*Coverage for Spouse and Dependent Children not available with Independence Single Membership.
A covered person is limited to one eligibility either as 1) Primary Member OR 2) Spouse OR 3) dependent child.
Coverage not available in: CO, MD, ME, NC, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NY, SD, VT, WA
*Accident Only In-Hospital benefits are payable if a covered accident results in you being confined to a hospital. If an insured person is age 70 or older on the date of an Accident then the Benefit Amount for Accident Only In-Hospital benefits will be reduced 50% of the Benefit Amount shown above. Accident Only In-Hospital benefits may not be available in all states.
